I had issues too when it was saying it was connected and spent hours trying to resolve them. The printer was showing and connected to the same WiFi network but would not print any jobs; there were no paper jams, no low ink cartridge, and no connectivity issues whatsoever. I even disabled my firewall as suggested. In the end, I downloaded/installed the driver from Canons website appropriate for my printer model, it worked straight after that!
